The lithographs are all from drawings by KEULEMANS and are SUPERBLY HAND-COLORED. Most are signed by Keulemans.
The 'Family of Kingfishers' is Sharpe's first and rarest
book. The first edition was the only edition published and ONLY 200 COPIES WERE
EVER PRINTED (and most of these are in museums and academic libraries).
This work is the RAREST OF THE RARE. Rarer than Gould's Hummingbirds, rarer than
Sharpe's Birds of Paradise, in fact, rarer than any other comparable work of the
period which one might care to mention.
